About the role
As a Chief Compliance Officer you will be responsible for overseeing compliance and regulatory activities, establishing a modern compliance framework that suits their growing business across several markets, developing the compliance strategy and procedures, ensuring that the organisation adheres to relevant laws and regulations. The CCO will work closely with founders and senior management and regulatory forums, providing strategic advice and ensuring operations remain compliant. You will be working closely with a broad variety of the organisation and you will therefore need the ability to be approachable and communicate effectively.
In your role you will
- Accountability for the compliance agenda and strategy, including securing alignment with the business strategy
- Advise and support to the organisation on compliance and regulatory matters, with focus on new business development & new markets
- Design and execution of the yearly control plan and serve as the primary point of contact between the company and regulatory authorities
- Take on the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (Swe: CFA) for the AML/CFT area
- Training to BoD, management and organisation in regulatory matters
Who you are
- Master’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field
- Fluency in Swedish and English (written & verbally)
- Minimum 10 years of work experience, of which at least 5 years with a focus on compliance, legal, risk management, or other relevant areas
- Proven experience from similar role such as (CCO/HoC/AO) within financial services in a business that has been expanding geographically
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing financial institutions both Swedish and at an EU level including the AML/CFT area
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Willing to dive in and tackle tasks hands-on
